Dear Families:

Thank you for your interest in The Madison Waldorf School. We are pleased to offer you an Application for Enrollment for the 2010-2011 school year. On this webpage, you will also find information on programming, the enrollment process, and a schedule of fees and tuition. The best way to learn more about our school and Waldorf education is to come visit. Call the office to set up a tour or come to one of our open houses. For the 2010-2011 school year, we will offer parent and tot playgroups, wondergarden for children 2.5 to 3.5 years of age, kindergarten for children 3.5 to 6 years of age and grades 1-5. We will add a grade to our school each year until we have grade one through grade eight in the 2013-2014 academic year. Our school is conveniently located on Schroeder Road between Whitney Way and Gammon Road in Madison, WI.

The Board of Trustees and Faculty of The Madison School are committed to Waldorf education*, a world-wide movement with over 800 schools in the United States. We offer a curriculum inspired by the ideas of Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Waldorf education in 1919. We employ teachers who are trained and/or experienced in the methods of Waldorf education or who are engaged in Waldorf teacher development activities. We take our advocacy seriously and invite you to join us in the establishment and growth of this school, which will educate the whole child within a caring, artistically expressive community. Our goal is to create an intellectual, emotional and physical environment, which will support children and families through the changing times of which we are all part.

We are also committed to making Waldorf education financially accessible to families. Tuition Adjustment based on financial need is available and we are pleased to be able to offer a sibling discount of 20%. Both tuition adjustment and the sibling discount are available for families who have at least one child enrolled full time.

Early application to our school is encouraged because class size is limited. Student applications will be processed in the order they are received. To request enrollment for your child, please return the enclosed application form and a $50 non-refundable application fee to the address listed below. Upon receipt of your application, we will contact you to set up an interview with a member of our faculty. A Parent Agreement and Contract will be mailed shortly after your interview.
